Shri Ganapati or Ganesha
Prayers are offered to Shri Ganapati, the elephant-headed Deity, before starting anything new because he is the remover of obstacles or things that can go wrong. Symbols on the murti of Ganesha teach us to listen carefully, talk less, keep silence, read carefully and eat properly. Ganesha is accompanied by a mouse.
